Default Building a new computer

This is my actual first time building a computer, so I have come to you guys for my new comp, I need help, and suggestions, please look over this and comment. BTW, this is a gaming comp. I'm in a reasonable budget 900-1500.

MOUSE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104178 - 41$
HD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144415 - 105$
MOUSEPAD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817114704 - 35$
KEYBOARD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823126114 - 32$
MOTHERBOARD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136152 - 135$
PROCESSOR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103514 - 267$
CASE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144089 - 153$
PSU CONVERTER - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812201001 - 3.75$
RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820144114 - 159.63$
GFX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161129 - 225$
MONITOR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824197001 - 103$

I was thinking of a 10k RPM HD, but is it really worth it, and are they hard to install?

Everything is compatible. The brands you've chosen seem to be more generic than reputable, but I don't have enough experience with different computer parts brands to say definitively. The mousepad, in my opinion, is a waste of money.

You might also want to consider a cheaper processor like an AMD 3200+. The processor isn't nearly as involved in the gaming environment as the graphics card, so, if you're on a budget, that would be a good place to cut back a few bucks.

As for the 10k hard drives, they are no different from other RPM drives (except for speed, of course). I think the 10k drives are only SCSI and SATA though. Shouldn't be a problem, considering your board has SATA, but just letting you know in case you wanted an IDE flavor.

everything looks alright, except on your processor I would go with the venice core instead of the clawhammer. also I would go with a better brand of video card, try sapphire instead of HIS for your radeon x700. that case rocks btw.

Motherboard - I'd go with something like an MSI Neo4 Platinum NForce 4.. (Check my signature)

RAM - I'd check out Corsair RAM. Whether you want budget RAM (ValueSelect of Corsair) or just great quality for extra (XMS of Corsair). I don't know how much difference you'll notice honestly, but someone else here can tell you I'm sure.

Processor - You can get a 3200+ Venice for less than the cost of that (about 197 on Newegg), so I'd go for that. 3200+ is still considered fast and very good. A Venice core is the best performing core in AMD Processors right now.. and runs the coolest.. so, stick with Venice.

Graphics Card - I know your gonna kill me, but this is going to cost a bit.. hehe. If you want to play games at high settings and have this true for a while, I'd suggest the 6800GT of Nvidia. It will do you wonders.. trust me.. hehe..

Case - The case I have.. and its AWESOME. Its very beautiful and I think the size might catch you off a bit at first.. its pretty large for a 'midtower'.. hehe. All the same, a beautiful display and with the right stuff, it will truly make your friends drool..

When you just look at the specs of a card what do you look for besides the memory?

Okay, I changed gfx card and processor too
PROCESSOR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103533 - 270$
GFX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150091 - 349$

That should be the final changes. Anyways everything is still compatible, and will install easy? This is my first time actually building a computer, and I'm just wondering if I got all the parts needed, and how hard this task actually is. My friends have told me its really easy, but I still would like more re-assurance from you guys, thanks for the help so far.
