Default Building a Gaming Computer

My friend wants me to build him a gaming computer, but with a budget of $2000 AU$

I Have come up with

Case:Zonix Blower ATX MIDI Tower case - $95
Motherboard:EVGA nForce 650i Ultra775 LITE 122-CK-NF66-T1 - $215
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 C2D 3GHz 4MB LGA775 - $400
RAM:Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/4G - $270
Hdd:Hitachi HDT725050VLA360 X2 - $420
CD-Rom: LG GSA-H62NBBK -$65

Specs would be:
3.0Ghz Dual core
4gb RAM
8800GT 640mb
1tb Hdd
CD/DVD burner
Windows XP Pro

Would this work alright, and how can i cut costs (i would like to get a better Motherboard and possible SLI 8800's)

Desktop:BitFenix Survivor~Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3R~ i7 2600K @ 4hz~AMD 6870 1GB~12gb Team Elite DDR3 1333~3xWD In RAID5~W7 Ult

the 8800GT is better than the GTS and you save $250
SLI isn't worth it.
