Building first gaming computer, help/input wanted

While I have built a some normal mid-size computers before for everyday use, I have never actually built a gaming computer before, thusly I have been kind iffy on what parts I should be putting into it. I've never had to deal with high-end performance parts before so I was wondering if I could get input on the components I choose to put in it and general advice. All the parts listed I got off of Newegg, and I know that with some searching I could find them cheaper and I plan to, but I used Newegg for the sake of convenience. If it isn't obvious, I have a rather generous budget as well, but I'd like to not exceed the $1800 mark I have now. I am willing to forgoe the monitor though and using a television as a monitor to save money for a little while or not getting the SDD, which I only really plan to put the OS and important files on.

My biggest question is that the video card I have chosen says that it is PCI Express 3.0, and I didn't know if the motherboard I chose can support it.

The motherboard will support your card, in fact it can support sli on that card.
For the psu I would suggest the Corsair TX850 (or the TX850m). Can't remember the price off the top of my head though.
I know you said you were only going to store OS and important files on the ssd, but you should consider getting the crucial m4 128Gb. It's only a tad more expensive but has double the storage capacity.
As for the ram, you should get the G-Skill Ripjaws X series 8Gb, since they're only around $60.
Do not get an asus monitor, as nst of them are very bad. A dell or lg monitor is probably your best bet.

All your other parts however are very solid, so this should be a brilliant build when it's done.
