This is what I'm thinking will be my new pc build; I'll mainly use the computer for programming in VB, C++, etc... and gaming. I already have the case (Aspire X-Cruiser), and the hard drive listed (It's the only part I plan on keeping from my current computer).

it looks good. once built, u should have a killer machine! and its not breaking the bank too much either. thats always a plus :D

Yep I agree, everything looks really good. Only thing I might suggest changing is go for a processor that has 1mb of L2 cache instead of 512kb. You will notice a slight performance boost. However if you do not feel like spending the extra 50 dollars you wont be disappointed at all with the one that you have picked out. HERE is the processor that I found that I know is extremely. Overall though, everythign that you have is really good.

What about Dual Core Processors (AMD x2)? Are these cpu's worth the extra money, or no? Will games or other software require dual core processors soon? :D

i use a dualcore processor. i really have nothing to compare to since prior to getting this i've been using celerons and p4 processors before this so i don't know of the performance boost between the 3500+ and 3800+x2 but if you have the extra money... go for it.. 3800 is cheapest but i recommend get a 4200+ or higher.

dude that looks nice...im building something slightly similar but yeh that will be great...but i would suggest maybe getting a 30 dollar sound card...this way ur mobo wont have to deal with sound so u can add about 5-10fps to games...not much but just easier on ur computer...like this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16829102003....that i what im looking in to getting and its only 30 dollars and will just make ur mobo last longer and maybe run cooler since it doesnt have to deal with sound processes....

but other then that it should do games like bf2 maxed out graphics no probs...hl2 maxed....pretty much ne thing....even F.E.A.R...hoep this helped :D

Dude thats a nice build design... Its under 900 bucks and its a freaking wicked gaming machine for that pase. I'd get nice case, also you need to remember OS. Unless you got one that works already for it. Nice machine! Top of a line video card :) Very nice
