Default Building custom computer need help!

Hey eveyone, i am new to here, i am goign to start building a custom computer. i am really go at USING the computer but when it comes to whats inside it i have NO idea. i know some stuff. so if you could tell me what are the main things that i am goignt o need to buy and maby if you could suggest one to buy.

i will be using the computer for homework and doing video games and web designing. so it need to be fast and be able to handle my multitasking.

I have about $1000 to spen on it. so im not going to have a CRAZY one.

i have started looking at cases, anything i should know about them?

also can u suggest items of this website, they have a store by my house and i can just order it and recive it in a few days, so..., goign to try to get eveything from them. (ok maby alittle ebay stuff IDK)

if I were you, I would look for a case that didnt come with a power supply, this way you save money on what they would be charging you for the power supply and you buy yourself a decent power supply. The 12v line looks pretty weak.

They do sell a 600watt power supply for $20, think i should get that?

well right now i have a stupid HP computer, its probably one of the nicer ones that they make, so if you could suggest things that i can use for a custom computer that are better then what i have in this computer or mabe some things that will blow this one away

wow, that geek.com website sells pretty cheap stuff. i'm going to buy some light sticks, and my case from there.. they sell an ATX [ALL FOUR WALLS] clear plastic case and i'm gonna get it.. good find

i'm new to making computers too.. i can't help you at all but, to tell you that geeks.com is cheaper than alot of other computer part sites...

what you want is to not only look at wattage but to look at how many amps are going through each line esp the 12v line.

A good 12v line for gaming should have AT LEAST 30amps.

could you maby point out a website that sells a 12v line with 30amps or more?

if i buy a case with a PS can i take it out and put a different one in?
