Default Building a Computer

How much money would I need to build a mid- to high-level computer?
I have a couple of old ones I've been experimenting with, but I would like to have a good one for real work...like learning how to program and hack and such...

Keep in mind that I'm a 15 year old with no job and not much access to money...i'd like it to be as low as possible...

Dell has some pretty nice introductory systems for a nice price:

Custom building with a pretty good setup can cost quite a bit so I recommend a complete system already made like the example above.

You should probably go with Intel.

yeah, i have a monitor...how much would it cost to build one, though? i'd rather get experience building rather than buy a prebuilt one...

It depends on the parts you put into it. For the stuff you're doing (little bit of gaming, programming, etc.), I'd say around 1000 as a rough guess. What kind of games do you wanna play though?

Alright well those aren't too extreme, you can definitely get by with a simple, cheap gfx card and get high frames on those games.
