Default building a comp wat do u guys think

prossesor - intel core to quad (wating till jan to deside witch model cuz thats when the mainstream ones will be out there to)

tv tunner dvd and hard drive hanvt desided but w/e that dosont realy matter
but i could use some help with ram i want a 2 gig ram moduale with dual channle and the higher the speed that the mother bord cna take the better
also if u could help me find a monitor that would be great just keep the monitor around 250 - 300 and a widescreen high deff

also ive never installed a cpu before r there any tools i should get?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but I would get a DirectX 10 graphics card

to exspencsive i figar wait a year or 2 i should be fine with that card then upgrade instead of spending 600 bucks
also be getting vista

If he's planning on getting a Quad Core, then I think he might be able to find it in his budget to get a Dx10. I say if your waiting till Jan to get the CPU wait till then to get the Card too. Def get a Dx10.

well i was thinking of getting the quadcore equivilny of a dualcore 6600
and depends if the new cards drop to 300 ill get i but deff not ganna spend 600 on a card id rather wait a year and get a better card

Mid range DX10 cards are supposed to be coming out it January or some tim earound there I think

you said that the hard drive doesn't really matter, well, it does. Greatly. I can tell you that a SATA drive makes a big difference from an IDE hdd. Having a slow HDD will cause your computer to run slowly. I would recommend a SATA drive. Raptors are really nice.

well that was kinda an obvouse for my but w/e
ya i was thinkin of like a 250 G i downloaded a lot of crap so i cna always throw another drive in
also how much r hd dvd drives goin for?

oooo uhh IDK lol, IMO i would wait because thye have Blu-ray right now and HD-drives and one is going to take over another.
