Its no problem.
On a different topic, my price has gone up significantly.
If i go with the AMD processor, will that be future proofed as I am starting to think that getting a Q6600 will be overkill. Also, will i have to swap anything out to substitute it in?

What you can do is buy an AMD board with AM2/AM2+ Socket and buy the processor worshipme listed. The 6000+X2 is a great dual core.

This 780G board would be a nice match for the 6000+ X2.
