BSOD while installing XP

I keep getting BSOD while trying to install window xp on my friends computer.

The specs are:
Asus P5LD2 motherboard
1GB ram
P4 3.2 Ghz
NE8800GT VGA

The hard drive itself is fine and it is brand new. The hard drive already have XP in it already. I tried googleing but it didnt really help.

It gets up to the point where it says Opening or installing window then BAM... BSOD =(

I'd suspect the RAM first.

Run Memtest86+ and see if you get any errors.

Bad media? such as the CD.

Hardware issue.

thats about the only two things it can be.

I cant do Memtest because the hard drive was from another computer. I guess ill burrow some rams from a friend. thanks
