Default Broadband usage monitoring software???

Been with freeserve (Wanadoo) for years and have been on unlimited bradband since the start with no problems. They now say that as my monthly usage is over 40 gig (49 gig) this is deemed unacceptable and they are threatening to cut me off. Can anyone recommend software that will record how much I am actually using each month as I'm sure it's not as high as they make out. I think this might be a ploy on their part to get me off their original unlimited package and on to one of their usage limited ones. I'd like to be able to contest their figures.

Many thanks.
