You cannot just try any memory, the motherboard was working well with memory you placed in your brothers' computer, well get them out and go and back identical ones. Your trying to please your brother but your neglecting yourself; get your original memory back. There are so many types that you cannot just plug anything.
Get your initial memory back in their original spot and you should resolve your problem.
