Boot.ini help

Can someone tell me if I understand the Boot.ini File as far as this Line?

Boot Loader.
Timeout=30
This Line is just how Long the Boot Menu will stall on screen in sec.


default=multi[0]disk[0]rdisk[0]partition[1]\Windows

default=multi[0] is the IDE Controler number
disk[0] is the Hard Drive number

rdisk[0] what is this??

Please tell me if everything is right and what I sould know

I think I have what eatch part of the Boot.INI File means but I just need a little help.

Boot Loader.
Timeout=30
Tells the Boot Loader how long in Seconds to Display the Boot muenu I get this.

default=multi[0]
Tells the Boot Loader the Hard Drives Adapter Number and should be set to 0.
if the B.I.O.S Loads the System Files.
Now this is one thing I did not get is the Hard Drive Adapter Nuber the IDE Interface on the Motherboard and every Motherboard had Two 0. and 1. ??
disk[0]
Tells the Boot Loader the Hard Drive Controller Number.
Is this the Spot on the Belt they are talking about the Master or Slave spot???

rdisk[0]
Tells the Boot Loader the Hard Drive Number on the Controller.
Then what is this??

I think I get it

default=multi[0] tells the Boot Loader that you are useing an IDE Hard Drive.

So is this why we have to put a [0] to tell the Boot Loader to go to the First IDE Controler Interface on the Motherboard to look for the Hard Drive??
