I just restarted from installing norton system works 2005 and Nvidia Chipset Drivers and now my pc dont load and it says :
Cannot Find Boot.INI
Load From C:\windows\

HELP??

somehow your boot.ini got erased..this file tells the computer where to look for the os

Do a system restore to retrieve it; it can't get erased just like that.
Boot in safe boot and choose the option to do a system restore. If you manage to get your system back up, save the file on a diskette, and re-install your program and drivers.

Do you have a backup on a floppy? You can just copy it to the correct location. I believe its in ur systme32 folder, but do a search to make sure.

Boot into the recovery console from your xp disk. Than issue the command MAKEMBR or FIXMBR. I can't remember which one it was. MBR is the master boot record, which is your boot.ini file.

^^^Never knew you could do that. Great tip. If i knew about that long ago it woulda saved me many a reinstall of the OS...
