Default boot disks....

a friend of mines computer won't start up it's windows 98 and thats about all he knows. after you turn it up it crashes befor the login screen. should i make him a win98 boot disk or would it be easier solved some other way? thanks for help.

You might have to reinstall windows. You can get bootdisks for various operating systems from http://bootdisk.org/.

put it into safemode and then do a virus scan

i got a windows 98 bootdisk from bootdisk.com he doesn't have any virus scanning stuff at all. would he lose anything if i used a bootdisk?

Depends on what you plan on doing with the boot disk.

going into the 'delete' thing at startup where theres your computers info (not sure what the screens actually called.) putting in the floppy and changing it so floppy loads first. Is there another way to use one (never needed to before.)
