boot disk fail

So i can use my computer and then after a certain number of hours (it could be 10 minutes or 3 hours) it shuts off and restarts! HelP!! The computer says boot disk fail..

Try checking the temperatures inside your case. The computer will automatically reboot if the temperatures are too high to prevent damage to the system.

I'd also do a full system scan for viruses and spyware.

check that the cables are also properly seated and connected properly, they could be causing intermittent faults, and if poss try new or different cables and a different molex power connector at the back of the drive to rule out any of these problems, it is also possible that something, ie a power cut has damaged ur disk, and it may need to be reformatted, however this is a last ditch attempt.

Also might be worth looking in event manager in admin tools to see if there are any clues there, as to the cause.
