Default bluray ROM not working

how would i know if the BluRay ROM that i have in my PC isnt working anymore?
ive installed the latest firmware
and the manufacturer site doesnt show any drivers
and i recovered the program key
but every time i put in a bluray movie to watch it says that there is nothing in the drive tray
and windows only sees it as a CD ROM

my BluRay ROM is Plextor BDDVDR PX-B320SA

any help would greatly be appreciated
