Default Bluetooth mouse question

I just got the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 and it came with a USB Bluetooth receiver. I was expecting not having to use one. Is there a way to just use my computer's Bluetooth and do away with the receiver?

There should be, have you tried linking the devices using the built in bluetooth?

And the mouse is powered up, eg batteries and stuff? Any errors at all? They could be running on different frequencies aswell. Have you tested it with the USB receiver you got, to rule out a problem with the mouse?

The mouse runs fine with the receiver.
