Blue sceen when installing Windows XP

Hey. Im trying to install Windows XP on a computer that still has Vista on it. The setup checks for all the hardware, and just as the partition part begins, I get a blue screen. It says in the technical info that something is wrong with pci.sys. It also tells me to try and disable caching and shadowing. Any ideas what might be wrong? These are the computer specs:

Acer
Intel Core Solo 1.63 ghz
1gig ram
Intel Media Accelerator 900

(forgot to mention its a laptop)
