Verbatim FTW. Though I am using up a cake box of Imitations that I've had since...well...since I can remember haha; and they are doing just fine. Don't use em much anymore! I've got Memorex CD-RWs and DVD-RWs and they work just fine as well. But really, I've never had problems with Verbatim. Any coasters I've burnt were my fault or iTunes.
What speed are you burning this stuff at? Some players are touchy about stuff like that...
Try burning at the lowest speed on your TDK discs and see what the outcome is. Otherwise, I'd place a safe bet that your player just doesn't like 'em.
