Question blank DVD question

is there any other type of blank dvds with a capacity larger than 4.7 gigs?

i heard about the double layer dvds which have i think 8.5 gigs of capacity but you need a double layer dvd burner to burn them.

so are they any others that i should know about? thanks guys.

4.7GB single and 8.5GB dual layer DVDs are about it unless you go to Blu-ray. That has 25GB single and 50GB dual layer capacity disks.

Yup, you'll need a Blu-ray burner. They aren't exactly cheap either: Pioneer BDR-101A Blu-ray for only $999.99.

alright i'm not sure if my DVD burner has this feature or not but i have the TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B burner, the name is directly from my device manager.

i googled it and all i get is driver updates and nothing else to see what the features are of the burner. so can anyone help me find out if this is a double layer burner or not?

i doubt it is but it would be a shame to buy a double layer burner just to find out i had one
