Default Black Border around Monitor

Hey guys, As you can see this is my first post and its about this problem i have with my monitor.
OK so I got a new PC for christmas and these are some of the specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4350
Monitor: Technika 1080p HD TV
Operating System:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)

So i was just using a VGA cable to connect to the monitor (no black borders) but decided to finish it off with a HDMI lead. As soon as i plug in the HDMI i get a 1cm border around the edges. Now i didnt think i was this stupid but i cant get them to go away. I have been into display settings (right click, personalise) and in the ATI catalyst program. but the nxt setting up makes the screen too big and edge off the screen. so is there a way to get a resolution between :1920X1080(recommended) and 1920X1200(the highest setting).
Hope that made sense :/
Happy New Year
Jammy

welcome to CF!

Go into CCC advanced and there should be settings for your TV. Go to scaling options and adjust the overscan until its right.

Hope this helps.

Technika 1080p HD TV is good. It is difficult to solve your problem for me.

Do you mean you're having a similar problem that's not solved by the above? If not you'll need to be a bit clearer I'm afraid.
