Default bioshock problems

so i finallyvgot bioshock and installed it on my dell 1520 running vista and i have no sound. ive bee researching for an hour now and i have found it is a big problem with no real solution can anyone help?

Wait for a patch, they will probably have fixed the issue.

i got sound to work but now after playing for like 20 min it crashes with "display driver stopped working but has recovered" think it is a heat issue? i have the latest driver for my laptop card

check your temps while in game

I know what the sound issue is. Do you have EAX3 turned on, like you said loads of people have this problem and apparently this is the source of it.
