Default bfg or evga video card?

hey, i'm planning on purchasing either one of these cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130200

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143033

they are both geforce mx4000 cards but the first one is bfg tech and the other is evga. which one should i choose (disregarding price) and how much of a difference is their between the two manufacturers? also, i think the bfg one will be on sale for $30 at best buy on black friday, so i would buy that one if i could. Strangely, the ad on http://www.blackfridayads.com/stores.php?sid=2 says that the card at best buy will be a "geforce MX 4000 3D Fusion 128MB PCI Video Card" while the link goes to an agp card on the best buy website.

another strange note is that the pci counterparts to the two newegg cards are more expensive. here are the links to them:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130186

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143034

can anyone explain why there is a price difference (shouldnt agp be more expensive than pci)?

one last question: can u use pci-e cards on pci slots or pci cards on pci-e slots?

Why are you buying an MX400. Nowadays, onboard video is better than an mx400....

i have an agp slot, and i'm just looking for a card that will allow me to play some games like call of duty2 or doom3 on reasonable settings, not really at top graphics. plus i'm planning on learning graphic design as a hobby. do i really need something as intensive as a 7800gt?

I would have to agree with everyone. Why get an MX card? They are so outdated and probably not compatible with most games today. I can understand if you are on a budget, but get a newer card for "budget" minded people. AGP is better and it doesn't matter if the PCI version of the video card is higher priced than an AGP card.

To play COD2, you can technically use the FX series video cards, but moving up to the 6 series nividia cards are even better. Get a 6600GT minimum is what I would say.

Since nobody wants to answer his question, the BFG would be better. It's 128 bit compared to the evga's 64bit

Yes, the FX5500 is a lot better than the MX4000. MX is old, FX is newer and better than the MX but old too. The new cards are the 6 and 7 series by Nvidia. Any 6600 on up is good. The newest cards using the 7 series chipset is even better and geared towards high end gaming, but way more expensive.

pretty much the way video cards are, the more expensive they are, the better. unless we're talking about bestbuy or circuitcity, they charge $300 for a evga 6800 vanilla
