Default Which is better?

Can someone tell me which CPU is better?

1. E6550

2. E6400

I would think the E6550 would be the better processor, but I find it strange that it costs less than the E6400. Can someone explain to me which CPU is better? This is for my near future build.

Seems like a good deal to me, as the E6550 is the faster processor, plus, supports the faster FSB rating of 1333mhz, instead of the usual 1066mhz. The E6550 also seems to have a high L2 cache of 4MB, 2mb per core, it would seem, rather than the 2MB of the other.
Make sure your motherboard supports it first, but it should do

The E6550 is the better processor, simply faster.

The E6400 are an older generation CPU and still selling at the old price, they were not affected by price cuts. The E6400 will however work on some boards where the E6550 would not be supported.

it does sound strange that the E6550 is cheaper.
But it's also the better one so go for it!

edit: damn you guys are fast. I clicked on reply, went to brush my teeth and when I get back and type my reply there are already 3 new replies.
