Arrow Best Wireless-N Repeater/Booster?

Any suggestions? I ordered this item from Newegg:

And thought that it would serve as a wireless extender/repeater of my home network WITHOUT using any wires. I was wrong.. it needs to be plugged into my router, and the other tower has to be plugged into any device I'd like to use on the connection. (Unless I'm missing some way to configure it wirelessly as a booster?)

Anyway, do you have any suggestions for a product that will do this? My router is upstairs in my bedroom, and most of our wireless devices downstairs (Xbox, PS3, Bluray player, etc) get a very low signal from the router upstairs. I'd like to purchase a product that I can just plug into the wall outlet somewhere near my stairs, and have it boost the signal from upstairs. Hell, maybe I'll even purchase two and try to increase the signal even more with the placement of them.

As usual, any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks.
