Default Best Video Editing Software?

Hey guys,

I have a lot of money from working (so pretend money isn't a constraint here), and I'm wondering what you think is the best video editing software that will actually work without freezing on my comp (specs in sig).

Something that's relatively easy to learn but has a lot of features

Also, what do you think is the best DVD authoring software out there too (with most features for menus and all that)?
