A good HSF for LGA 1366 is the Zalman CNPS9900 Great item, I use it on my 4 rigs. 2 i7's, and 2 Phenom II's.

So you think I should still get the i7 before they stop making it? I was thinking the same thing, applications are still not fully using quad core let alone hex core.

I would; The I7 won't be "a waste of your money" because they are discontinuing it. The Hexa's will be awesome, but not really designed around gaming just yet which is what we all want, right? And they've even said it will be on S1366, so you could always upgrade later when they become cheaper and more useful.

According to Rohan, the P6Tv2 is a good board for overclocking...And I've, personally, always trusted OCZ for great performing RAM at a great price.

You are going through the same exact transition that I went through.

IMHO, it's not worth it. Save your money and just stick with your Q6600.

^^^ Very much agreed. The Intel C2Q series are much more powerful than everyone thinks. The I7's, though they affordable now and maybe be more so later, are not too much better than a Q6600 overclocked with the right components.

But isn't the q6600 almost half as good as the i7 920? http://www.legitreviews.com/article/824/14/ . I'm only overclocked to 2.8ghz anyway since my aftermarket cooler sux
EDIT: Actually I mean, the i7 seems quite a lot better, not double better though. But stilll. HAHA you get what i mean...
