You use a 22" monitor. You definitely want something powerful. What's your budget?

I would go for a 9600GT. Yeah sure, you could go grab a 9800GT or a ATI XXXX for borderlining 100 dollars...but I must say, my Evga 9600GT has done very well on alot of games I play: Far Cry2, Crysis...I get 40Fps in Crysis @ 1152x864 all settings on high with 4x AA.

Because hes only running an athlon x2 and its probably a K8 so anything over a 9600gt is probably gonna be bottlenecked.. and the rev. B (55nm) 9600GT's only require 22amps on the 12v rail, so maybe a 9600gt could work out for her xD

Yeah, but she is playing at 1680x1050. It's a lot more strenuous. You want to at least get a 4850 or a 9800/GTS 250.

It depends on what she has now. Who know, she might be able to get away with what she has now.

Thanks for the replies guys

I'm not sure what a k8 is :P but I bought this computer form Acer :/
The PSU is probably a 250w and I never thought this CPU would bottleneck a video card :*/

I do have a 22" but I do not have to play @ 1680x1050 it's not a big deal as long as it's smooth and does not run @ full load at all times like CoD4 does right now (it seems ><)

If u were to get a newer Gfx card i would deff recommend a 500W PSU.

For you, if u want to be able to play all new computer games, maybe not max resolution, i'd recommend a
