Ummm, yes. The 7800GTX 512MB eats the X1800XT hands down.

I mean, really, how many people can OC a X1800XT to those speeds? Point made.

After some playing around with smaller increments we found the card was completely stable at 685/1700 but would run for an extended time at 690/1700.

http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/...erclocking.htm

I'm not saying that you cant OC to that level; I'm saying you cant OC to that level on stock cooling.

x1800 512mb eats 7800gtx for breakfast. The thing has better software, better stats, and is goign to pwn the 7800gtx even more when the next gen games come out that can take even more advantage of the new ati software.

check out www.anandtech.com
And the x1800 512mb ABOSOLUTLY DESTROYS The NVIDIA in any kind of 3dmarks/stats etc. because it has better software. Point made.

Actually, the X1800XT is 512MB so that's a fair comparison. I was looking at those charts and let me say the ATi got spanked. Let me put it here so people don't have to click on the link above:

ohh really? Where does it say that?

And I'd say the benchmarks in this thread speak for themselves.

You idiot, that's a BATTLE FIELD 2 TEST!!! BF2 was made for nVidia, hence the nVidia special effects, and the nVidia logo on the case. It is meant to be played with an nVidia card, hence the logo, "nVidia, the way it's meant to be played".

stop crying. And lol "OMG that's a bf2 test, u can't do that oMG" BF2 is a game like any other, good vid cards are bought so u can play new games, well BF2 is a new game so quit crying that it's unfair since it was "made for nvidia". The fact is that nVidia seems to have the better vid card atm and ur small brains don't seem to understand it.

FEAR is the most demanding game up to date, and look at the benchmarks. The 7800GTX is a little better. And just keep in mind that the 7800GTX is the 256mb version, and the x1800XT is most likely the 512mb version.

I would liek to say that these games are old. The new games will make the x1800XT superior any day of the week, due to its superior software, but as of now the software is not being utilized.
