Default The best gaming processor?

Im new to all these fancy gadgets for computers, Im used to using what my dad buy, so I was just wondering what the best gaming processor is? By the way, this will be for use with a laptop if that makes any difference.

For laptops, the Intel is better as of this moment (Pentium M-Centrino Technology). When 2006 comes around, both Intel and AMD have new mobile CPUs out.

For desktop PCs, AMD is much better than Intel. Funny huh?

THat CPU is only offered on desktop PCs and not for laptops. It is really powerful. All the magazines and online reports say the Athlon 64 FX CPU is the best for gaming. Top notch with the price to match too.

So, what would be a reasonable gaming notebook, any brand, something that will take on all games...that doesn't make you want to shoot yourself when you buy it?
