Talking best dual core CPU for laptop

I am going to get a laptop soon and i want to know wich one is better AMD Turion X2 Tl-50 1.6 or Intel Core Duo 1.6. I only have 1000$ (canadian)

The AMD is cheaper tho i think, and if ur on a tight budget that might be the way to go. From what i have read on the net, the core duo is better all around, but comes at a higher price.

ONLY?!?! lol im building a new desktop with 400-600$
im not sure but a lot of people have Turions for there laptops i dont see too many C2D's

Get a Core 2 Duo CPU. If you can wait, get the new Core Duo using the 45nm fabrication. More energy efficient and faster.

They are pretty much the same thing. The E6300@1.86Ghz in my rig and the Core Duo@1.83Ghz in my laptop both run Superpi at around 30 seconds.

i have a core 2 duo 1.6ghz in my laptop and its pretty damn decent. my friend has a turion 64 (not sure on the exact number) but its not as good as mine
