yearnforu, are you looking to upgrade your current tower with new stuff? Or are you looking to create a whole new tower (new case)?

They've given you some pretty good advice. While I can't vouch for the speed of AMD (I've always had intel), the Nvidia cards are amazing. I have a GeForce 4 4200ti, which I've had for roughly 4 years. It still runs strong in games like Half-Life 2 and Unreal 2K4. I went with it cause it was the fastest I could get, and, well, I can definately say it was more than worth the money.

For memory, get the 1GB. It's not the standard of gaming yet, but with prices so cheap, you might as well get it now.

Yeah, thats basically what I think. 1gb is enough for a standard system at the moment, as I always have loads of resource free, and I run quite alot. I end up with about 500meg left out of my 1gig.

512 does me well. But 1 gig will last you but 512 could save you a little cash not much but enough.

One game I know of, BF2, pushes past 1GB if you put everything on high.. and thats the only reason I'm getting 2GB.

I'd go with this instead of seperate CDVD burners/readers:

LITE-ON Black 16X DVD+R 4X DVD+RW 4X DVD+R DL 12X DVD-R 4X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2M Cache IDE DVD Burner - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106984
$48.99

Same HDD size, and RPM, cheaper, and better brand:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148040
$60.00

The rest looks alright.

you are right about the HDD Marx, but the advantages of having separate dvd burners and dvd rom, is that you dont have to take up HDD space by burning an image.
