whats a good benchmarking tool to see exactly how my pc can perform???

i dont think the free version of 3Dmark is good, it like limits everything.
i cant think of a good one yet. but i will later.

3DMark06 was a very bad benchmark, but Vantage is definitely an improvement, it's a bit CPU limited at the lower resolutions though (Performance setting). There is also PCMark Vantage which is supposed to evaluate all aspects of your systems performance and not just gaming.

SuperPI is also a nice bragging rights benchmark, only use it if you want to show off some very nice overclocks though, the goal is <10sec.

And Everest has some very nice memory bandwidth, memory latency benchmarks.
