hey nice guide dude. thanks! I wish I would have seen this guide earlier! I had some nasty spyware get in my PC but I just did the lazy way and did a system restore and so far so good but I did go download some of those programs thanks dude!

Yep, that was a winner of a forum post *CLAPS*. As a PC tech myself I daily have to advise people about security and how to make using the internet a safer place for themself and there kids. This post really outlines the need for every user to under and not be scared when dealing with Internet protection and there right for better safty. Now all we need to do is get everyone in the world to read this forum.

Nice guide overall, but 2 anti-spyware programs is a bit overkill IMO, as well as nobody's stopping me from visiting my porn sites!

Also I would put a section in recomending hardware firewalls over software firewalls.

Ehh ... thanks for the suggestion, I'm not saying you have to stop visiting porn sites referring to internet beginners here. I'm on dialup, so I have no clue whatsoever on hardware or router firewalls or whatever they are, sorry.
