Default Backup appz

i'm looking for something, maybe where i burn it to a cd, and pop it in before my computer boots that i can use as a backup program to copy things from 1 hard drive to another? i've looked but i 1. don't know what to search for 2. cant find anything.

Western Digital Data Life Guard does this, and it is free. It is on there website.

I don't really know, but I'd bet you could use a Linux live CD to do it. Also, you could boot to DOS and do it in the command prompt, but there would be no GUI, which would be a pain.

something that i can quickly boot into, press start or something and it copies things from one HD to another.

u already got an 8800?

no, not an image, something to copy stuff from one hard drive to another as a backup.
i'll probably be doing this daily, or every few days or so.

i'd like to try the 'data lifeguard tools' from WD but i dont' have a floppy drive.
if i want to run it in windows, can it copy EVERYTHING from one to another even if a file is being used?

And no you can't copy a file if it's in use.
