Default Backup

Does anyone know of a good program that will create a image of my entire system so I can burn it on a DVD for backup in case of complete system failure? I want the disk image to copy everything including the operating system and all programs and files on the hdd. What I'm looking for exactly is just a way I can create a restore cd/dvd for myself, like the ones that come with pre-built computers. Any help?

One of my friends used Acronis disk image to create an image of his pc at a certain point after he installed some of his fav programs and drivers and things. I think he used it once and said it worked great, had a perfectly restored pc in less than 10 mins.

Yeah, I have been looking into both of those programs. Any Idea which of the 2 would be better? Is there any free programs that do this as well?
