when i transfer video from my dv cam its in avi format so i dont end up with much video to burn on a dvd-r, what can i do?

get an avi converter, google for programs on google.

dont see problem with it being a small size ? itll still play?

Yeah I don't see the problem with .avi, but search google for an avi converter like grickey said or download a P2P program and download one from there.

converting avi files to mpeg files takes a long time. if you want to burn a movie file out of your avi file, a nero burner can do it for you. nero will automatically convert that into an mpeg.....you have to wait coz its takes a couple of minutes depending on file size.

Nero 6 is the latest version which works with DVD. 5 I think or lower won't.

It will convert it, Chado's right, and yes it will take a while but will convert it to MPEG-2 before copying it to the blank DVD.
