.avi error

I have a bunch of .avi files that just stopped working. They all previously worked but now i get the following errors:

WMP11
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

DIVX Player
"This file does not appear to contain a Video Track"

When i view as thumbnails i could see an image of the all the files.

I have k-lite codecs installed, i have tried VLC Media Player...still doesn't work.

The files are located on various different hard drives which contain both working and non working files, so i don't think the hard drives are malfunctioning.

Please Help

WMP 11 has probably become corrupt or your codec pack so try uninstalling or repairing either.

just reinstall a codec, like blackjack said it may have been corrupted.
