Default .avi?

Hey, whenever i play .avi, mac or windows it only plays the audio and not the video file itself. ive used quicktime, VLC, winamp, WMP, everything. nothing works


and i no there is video becuase it has worked before, and on windows it shows a lil pic preview of the video

Chances are you don't have the correct codec.

Download this:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm

It contains all the codecs you could ever need and more.

Just stop it from installing the extra players to run the codecs you probably don't want or need, as they'll play within Windows Media Player fine, etc.

i installed it..
at first i tried Full but it kept messing up during installation and i tried all the mirrors. so i downloaded Standard and it worked fine during installiation but the AVI still only plays sound

Which pack did you install try both XP/Vista and if that does not work try the KLITE PACK if it still doesn't work then its the AVI format thats wrong, there are some that will only play with a special codex from a specific site like a premium site.

graphics card drivers for some wierd reason?

So does this happen for all videos, or just one or two? And does it only happen with AVI files, or all video files?
