Average system specifications

What are they?

To be a little more specific, what kind of hardware does the average system run on? Or what would be classed as an average system in your opinions?

However, the average computer wil obviously keep getting better hardware as time goes on, but let's just say for now. I wish to see how far behind/ahead I am

id say the most common owned desktop is a pentuim 4 with half a g of ram
and ether intergrated graphics or a old nvidia card
but if your talking about average computer sold right now?
probly a highend pentuim d or a low end core 2 duo
with 1-2g of ram and a intergrated gpu
or a 7300 nvidia or x1300 ati

umm in terms of average computers owned id have to say .

P4 3.2 ish
512 MB RAM
Intergrated Graphics

in terms of average computer people are buyin nowa days id have to say .

high end P D or low end C2D
1GB RAM
Intergrated or low end 7 series Graphics card

in terms of average builds peopel r doin now im almost always seeing

a decent C2D usually 4300 - 6600
mostly 2GB RAM running at 667Mhz
320GB Hardrive
7600GT Graphics card

I would have to agree with esa's first thing on sold today. It's mostly low-end Core 2s with about a gig of RAM, and 160-250GB hard drive. Video cards are in the 7300 range.

i wouldnt say a g of ram
most people who get a gig of ram have bin complaining a lot
so a lot of companys r putting in 2 gig
for a desent computer
like 1000 bucks
witch is pritty much wat the average person spends
1000-1500
