Is there a way or a program to auto shut down your computer by settinga time limit. I got anti-virus and all that running at night, but i'd like for it to shut down after its done. Does anyone know of a such a program. Thanks.

haven't given this a try, but it might be what you're looking for. http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions...n/shutdown.htm

Here's another option I found: http://hacks.oreilly.com/pub/h/2879?...t&x-order=date

Seems like the 2nd one might be a more legit way of doing it, but again, I havent done it myself. Would you report on which (if any) of these worked for you?

Good luck.

Start >> Run >> type edit powerdown.bat. I did try that part and it worked like it said ... bringing up a blue screen. The rest I have yet to test, but am anxiously awaiting the results from Nik00117 testing it out.

there was this program, I think it was called "Intelligent WakeUp" or something like that. U can make it shut down ur system at any given time and also start ur pc at any given time.

But it's not perfect. When u shut down with it it leaves a little power to the mobo, so I don't know if u can say that the whole computer is off, but all of the fans and stuff stop spinning. And the only way the "wake up" function is going to work is that u shutdown with that program.

But give it a try, I use it and it does it's job.
