Default ATI's awnser to SLI

ATI fans, this is what you've been waiting for...

ATI's CrossFire a.k.a ATI's "SLI"

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2432&p=1

Note: Not everything has been confirmed yet (as Anandtech states in some of their articles about CrossFire).

ATI should focus on the largest market.. the mid-range market. It seems they don't want to.

I don't know about you , alvino...but this kind of seems that ATI is trying to set up a proprietary system with the use of 2pcix slots in the use of their new card here. To force an upgrade to a board and a card both is bad enough but the unavailability to be also used with an Nvidia card kind of throws the game in a different direction.

PCIx??? Why would they use PCIx? With the advent of PCIe, I think PCIx is pretty dead.

I really don't think either is worth it. Why need SLI? It isn't that stable.

The stability isn't that much of a problem anymore, nVIDIA has worked hard to perfect the technology.

But why do you really need it? One 6800 GT or ultra is just fine.. you don't need a second card...

If you really have the cash, wait for the 7800 GTX I believe it is called.

No game really takes advantage of sli.
