I just installed the ATI TV Wonder Pro (tv tuner). It gives you 2 options to set up the audio, external and internal. For the internal i don't have the cord for it (the one that goes into your cd/dvd player) so i have to do it external. Theres an audio line out on the back of the tuner, it tells me to run a cord from there to my sound card audio line in. I have a intergraded 7.1 sound card. theres no actual audio line in like a 2.1 sound card would have. Whenever i plug something in it lets me configure what that jack is (like line in, mic.....). Well i tell it that it's an audio line in but i still don't get sound when i watch TV?
I'm able to get sound from the TV tuner because i hooked it up to my speakers seperate from my computer. 2 problems with that though, 1 i would have to switch the cord everytime to get sound from my computer and when i record TV on my computer i only get the video and no audio.
My sound is fine because i'm listening to music right now from my computer,lol.
