ATi Catalyst 5.2

I have just recently upgraded my ATi drivers and Catalyst Control Center and the rest of the available updates. Everything seemed to be working fine until I needed to change some of the settings in the Control Panel. When I first went to open it.... it took a really really really long time.... very abnormal because 5.1 (the version b4 this) opened in nothing flat. When it finally opens.... and I move a slider (such as the AA settings) it takes few minutes to respond (as opposed to before imediate response in the previous version). At times I have also noticed that the process uses a lot of memory when I have the system tray icon enabled.... sometimes it was close to 40 Megs (ouch!). It was defintely not that high before....

Has anyone else experience this or know whats causing this?

Catalyst drivers are nice, but unfortunately they use quite a bit of your computer's resources. DNA or Omega drivers work really well too...you can give those a try.
