Anyone have any idea how the amd athlon xp3200 (400mhz) compares to lower end 64bit processors? I've heard the difference will not be massive until the 64bit windows comes out, but for now, what is the difference performance-wise?

If you want to go cheap, get the XP series. If you want to be ready for the future (when Longhorn comes out...keyword: WHEN), go with the 64 series. Just get what you think you need.

personally I would go for the amd 64 as it will mean you don't have to upgrade in a couple of years time just to run the latest software
