Default Athlon 64 4000+ vs. Athlon 64 X2 3800+

Which is faster, the 4000 or the 3800 dual core?

The 4000+ easily. The CPU on the X2 3800+ vs a Normal 3800+:

the normal won as it was more faster...

4000+ is faster for single-threaded programs, the X2 3800+ however, is probably a better investment. Once multithreaded games *cough* UT07 *cough* are released, the 4000+ will be slaughtered.

not really actually, keep in mind that a 3800+ X2 is two 3200+ put together. Its only fair to put a 3800+ X2 against a 3200+. The 3800+X2 is a better buy.

I'd get the 3800 X2... Dual core is just cooler.
