Default ATA and SATA

Is there an issue in using an ATA100 and RAID drives? I've a good deal on an ATA drive that I am going to toss in my new box..down the road I'd like to add on lots of Space for storage, is using RAID and ATA together even possible?

Thank you ^^

yes.

this can either be done using a dedicated RAID controlled card at Bios level to raid 4 drives together.

or you can use the windows RAID features to create raid arrays.

Just realized I posted "ata and sata" lol

What are the major differences between ata and raid?

Any benefits towards using one or the other?
