I would try to get the best if you can. Get this one:

How much are you willing to spend on a sound card? I suggest an Audigy 2 ZS for 5.1 surround sound (if speakers support it). Otherwise, a basic 2 speaker setup can use any SoundBlaster Live cards or a cheaper Audigy 2 Value card.

thanks Corolla, i will probably get that one. i dont think im gunna get a sound card until a little after xmas. i plan around 40$ for sound card

You can always use onboard sound using your motherboard.
