If you have PCI-E go with the 6800 GS. It's about $199 and it's on par and even better than the 6800 GT in most games and benchmarks. If you have AGP, then go with the 6800 GT, since it's in AGP and PCI-E and the 6800 GS is only in PCI-E. There have been rumors that the 6800 GS will have a AGP variant as well, so we'll see...

Different cores. The 7 series use the G70 core while the 6 series range from the NV40 to NV45. The 7800's work more efficiently with 24 pixel pipelines and 8 vertex shaders, compared to the 6800's 16 pixel pipelines and 6 vertex shaders (comparing the 7800 GTX to the 6800 Ultra).

there is not much same things. The 7800 series are newer and have different kind of cores etc than the older 6800 series. If u go for the 6800 series, don't get the GT, sure it's good, but the GS is almost the same and is way cheaper.

an australian! XD yes the GS is the better one it was made pretty much specifiacally for the games that are out right now hl2, bf2 etc it will serve u well for quite a while XD www.techbuy.com.au is a good site they have the GS for umm i dunno go check ur self i can't be bothered atm
