Default ASRock P4S61

Is this mobo designed for the Celeron or P4 processors?

The guy over the store said that without my 4 CPU power pins, my P4 3GHZ can't function at 3GHZ. It can only go at 2.5GHZ only.

according to ASRock's website on that particular board, it supports both Celeron and P4. Here's the cpu support list for your particular board: http://www.asrock.com/support/CPU_Su...sp?Model=P4S61

It may just be that the BIOS of the board needs to be updated in order for it to function fully with a P4 3.0 ghz. Is your cpu Prescott or Northwood?
